Atami in Shizuoka prefecture is a famous seaside resort area and hot spring town which is visited by people from all over Japan. But what you may not know is the dessert shops in Atami are equally attractive! You can find several Instagram-worthy dessert shops within walking distance from the JR Atami station with lovely interior design and of course tasty desserts. La DOPPIETTA

La DOPPIETTA serves fresh gelato made from local ingredients produced in Shizuoka prefecture. There are regular flavor such as tiramisu, rare cheesecake, pistachio, mango; but there are also unique flavors such as Beni Hoppe (Shizuoka prefecture brand strawberry), Cassata (traditional sweet from Sicily), Gianduja (sweet hazelnut spread similar to Nutella), bergamot and many more. It is located at the Atami Ginza shopping district which is close to Atami Sun Beach. (approximately 3 minutes walk), however you could actually walk all the way from Atami station (approximately 10 minutes walk). The long walk from the station makes it even more worthwhile to look forward to those delicious gelato, especially on a hot summer day.

Ichigo Bon Bon BERRY

Ichigo Bon Bon BERRY is a cute little shop with pink painted walks and matching interior design. The first floor is where you make your order or purchase their products, the second floor is where they prepare the desserts, and the third and fourth floor is the dining area. This dessert shop is so popular and attracted so many attention that it has been featured in the local media. The Japanese word ichigo means strawberry in English, so it is obvious that all their products are made from strawberries. The presentation of all their drinks and desserts are just too cute to not resist snapping a photo.

Atami Purin

Whoever thought that eating pudding out of a glass bottle could be so exciting. In fact, eating their pudding will make you feel like time slipping into the Showa era. The bottled puddings are made with several flavors such as the original, strawberry, chocolate, salted caramel, Shizuoka matcha, and fromage (cheese) pudding. Most of the puddings comes with a small tube containing flavored syrup. There's also a drinking pudding filled with caramel jelly, similar to the bubble tea drink. And what's great about these puddings is that they're sweetness is just right. There's always a long queue in front of the store, proving how famous it is. You definitely do not want to miss out on these puddings when visiting Atami!

Hana no Yosei

If you wish to enjoy a meal with a beautiful sea view, then Hana no Yosei is where you should head to. Hana no Yosei boasts itself as a café with the best view in Atami, and we totally agree with it. They have indoor seats as well as window seats, but of course the window seats are the best. You could visit the restaurant for lunch or for tea where they serve a small selection of lunch menu and beautiful desserts. Set the food or drink against the window and you will get a very photogenic food photo. Please be assured that the food are delicious too!
